Ouachita Baptist University’s Department of Art and Design will host guest artist Matt Smith, assistant professor of art at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor, in an exhibit titled “Sources of Evangelical Spirituality.”

Chandler Blake and Chris Clark win Ouachita Business Plan Competition

Ouachita Baptist University’s Hickingbotham School of Business hosted its annual Business Plan Competition on Dec. 6. Chandler Blake, a senior finance and business administration major from Frisco, Texas, and Chris Clark, a senior finance and business administration major from Arkadelphia, Ark., placed first in the competition with their business, WinterTerm.com, and received a $4,000 cash prize.

Hubbard elected vice chair of American Chemical Society regional committee

Dr. Sara Hubbard, associate professor of chemistry at Ouachita Baptist University, was elected to a three-year term as vice chair of the American Chemical Society (ACS) Southwest Regional Meeting Executive Committee on Nov. 1.

Ouachita Baptist University will host four student recitals on Oct. 27, including senior Rachel Clifton in her senior instrumental recital and Matthew Burns, Hannah Hill and Cedar Valdez in their sophomore vocal recitals.

Ouachita Baptist University’s fall Tiger Serve Day will take be held, Saturday, Sept. 23. Students, faculty and staff will meet at the Ben M. Elrod Center for Community and Family at 8:30 a.m. for breakfast provided by Sodexo before dispersing to service projects all over the community.
